Rotor and pad after 22 hours of continuous use at NASA 25 hour endurance race This is a front disc with Pagid yellow pads from the RennWerks BMW E36 M3, treated by 300Degrees Cryogenic Services, after approximately 22 hours of continuous use in the NASA 25 hour endurance race, pad remaining approximately 30%.
At the NASA 25 hour endurance race on December 6-7, 2003 the RennWerks BMW E36 M3 entry, #96, used stock rotors and Pagid pads treated by 300Degrees Cryogenic Services. The car, while not running the full 25 hours due to time lost to crash repair, did finish the race with approximately 22 hours and 1400 miles run. During this time the team never had to change brake pads or rotors. The rear pads were well worn while the fronts were still in excellent shape and the rotors were still true. Marco Romani, car owner and driver, stated, "The brakes were excellent the entire time, we did not have to worry about them at all, the pedal feel was consistent for the whole 22 hours. The rotors will probably last through the entire 2004 sprint season, there was so little wear. All future pads and rotors that I run will be cryo treated, it's well worth the money". |
